Goddard House (Worcester, Massachusetts) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Goddard House (Worcester, Massachusetts)
The Goddard House was a historic house at 12 Catharine Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The 2 1/2 story wood frame house was built in 1870 to a design by local architects Elbridge Boyden & Son, and exhibited Second Empire styling. It had the characteristic mansard roof, dressed with hexagonal slate tiles. It had asymmetrical massing, and an ornate centered entry porch. The house was built for Henry Goddard, a manager at the Washburn and Moen Wire Works whose father was an early partner in the business. Goddard was employed at the company's North Works, and was also active in local politics.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NRHP nomination and MACRIS inventory record for Henry Goddard House )〕 The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980; it was demolished in 1979.〔 ==References==
